How to clarify your VISION and why it's necessary for true success

On today’s episode of The Hairpreneur Show, host Ryan Weeden talks about the importance of writing down your goals, having a clear vision, and unlocking your keys to success with his own “Seven Levels of Why” exercise.

Episode Highlights:

  • Ryan starts by mentioning that he just got off a difficult phone call, and says that he wants to dive into how to handle frustration in building your business.
  • Vision is the first point to hit when starting to build your business.
  • Vision helps you to find focus.
  • A vision doesn’t have to be exact or point by point at first.
  • The “what” is about how you see your ideal life and what you want to accomplish.
  • Having a clear vision helps to establish your “why” - why do you want to be successful?
  • Being clear on your “what” and “why” will help you fuel yourself as you go along your business journey.
  • Ryan advises writing down what you want to have in 5 years, 10 years, etc. in a journal.
  • He also advises listeners to create a vision board to help create a visual representation of where they want to go.
  • Ryan directs listeners to visit his blog for his post about “Seven Levels of Why.”
  • He utilizes this exercise himself every 3-6 months.
  • Ryan walks listeners through his “Seven Levels of Why,” which involves articulating all of the different reasons why you want to be successful and gets progressively deeper as it goes on.
  • He advises listeners to “smoke a joint” or drink some tea while they do this exercise to help center themselves.
